The marketing conclave was inaugurated by Mr. Shombit Sengupta, Founder & Chairman,
Shining Consulting, with Prof. P.P. Mathur, Vice-Chancellor KIIT University and
Prof. Ashok K. Sar, Dean of SoM/KIIT University in Campus 6 Auditorium.

Shombit Sengupta in Seminar   Shombit and only Shombit was the Keynote Speaker. Shombit is also the Founder and Chairman - Shining Consulting and also author of the well known book “Jalebi Management”. He first captivated the minds of the young audience by asking about Jalebis that are served piping hot in only India- their taste is luscious and makes anyone smack his lips on mentioning. The students were floored! And then, having raised their curiosity further, he triggered their brains by asking them, after about 7 minutes to go to the outside foyer where hot piping jalebis are ready to be served hot
to them. Stunned and disbelieving him, the students were ushered out of the auditorium into the foyer where there were about 10 attendants with gloves in their hands, ready to give each one a hot orange coloured and sweet flavored jalebi!

From then on, upon their return to their seats in the auditorium smacking their lips and their taste buds too, the almost 700 odd students sat spell bound listening to Shombit drawing analogies and examples of management best practices based on the shape, the taste and the wonder of having the jalebbi as the ideal "end-user touch point ecstasy through their building customer touch points and execution excellence.” The management lessons couldn't have gone deeper into the souls of the young and old mesmerized audience, including faculty and industry representatives.

Shombit focused on three areas: intangibility, self initiative and leadership. He clearly emphasized on the concept of the outside-in approach, which precisely indicates “listening, seeing and smelling the external factors.” Shombit won the hearts of the youthful audience altogether.
